Frankfurt, Germany, April 17, 1949: A little girl looks triumphant holding not one, but two easter baskets filled with eggs and a chocolate bunny as her friends around her look less pleased. The dependent and local children scoured the grounds of the Palmgarten, Frankfurt’s botanical Palm Garden, at the Easter Sunday Egg Hunt, sponsored by the local Allied Women’s Club. Baskets, bags and boxes in hand, they ran around trying to take home one of the prizes for the most eggs found.
