Camp Bedrock, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sept. 2, 1997: A road sign tree shows directions and distances to the hometowns and home bases of the troops stationed at Camp Bedrock. The engineers who originally occupied Camp Bedrock saw one of the cranes used by the mining operation at the edge of the camp, and somebody noted it looked just like the one used by Fred Flintstone in the old popular cartoon series “The Flintstones.” The engineers have left, but the name stuck.
