‘Gloves are coming off’: Hegseth orders military to quickly buy, incorporate small, cheap drones into formations

The Pentagon wants more small, cheap, easily replaced drones in the hands of troops as quickly as possible, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said he is cutting red tape to make that happen.

Pentagon moves control of Greenland from Europe to Northern Command

The move comes as President Donald Trump has long mused about taking control of the island, which he has argued is critical to U.S. national security and protecting its Arctic interests.

AFRICOM general says command faces growing threat of terrorism and should not combine with EUCOM

Marine Gen. Michael Langley told the House Armed Services Committee that the U.S. military should not cede its influence across Africa even as it pushes partner nations to shoulder more of the burden for their own security.

Navy deploys destroyer USS Sampson to southern border mission

The USS Sampson will operate with a Coast Guard law enforcement detachment on board. It is replacing the littoral combat ship USS Charleston, which operated with a similar team on board during its roughly two-week tour.

Army hits recruiting goal for 2025 at earliest point in a decade
