The Coast Guard will host its second in-person marathon next spring, and registration for the event begins at midnight on Coast Guard Day, Thursday, Aug. 4.

The official road races of the United States Coast Guard are scheduled for March 2-4, 2023, at Base Elizabeth City, N.C., and will feature a marathon, half marathon and 5k.

“Elizabeth City is proud to be the home of the Coast Guard Marathon, and we look forward to welcoming participants from around the United States and beyond to take part in the second annual in-person race, which honors and celebrates the Coastie spirit,” Coast Guard Marathon Director Corrina Ruffieux said.

The marathon and half marathon courses will run along the Pasquotank River and through the base and air station with a rare chance to traverse the military airstrip.
