(Tribune News Service) — A small brush fire that broke out on the grounds of the Air Force Academy has been contained as of Wednesday night.
A spokesperson with the Academy said fire crews responded around 7:20 p.m. to a fire behind the convenience store on the south side that was less than an acre.
Firefighters had the fire contained by 8:30 p.m. The spokesperson said crews would remain on scene to monitor hot spots through the night.
No people or buildings were threatened, and no evacuation orders were issued.
