An Air Force officer stationed in Kuwait died Wednesday in a non-combat related incident, the Department of Defense announced Thursday.
Air Force Maj. Stephen Khou, 36, of Philadelphia died at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The incident is under investigation.
He was assigned to the 32nd Weapons Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., and was in Kuwait as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. Khou served as a Cyberspace Operations Expert, according to an academic biography.
Khou is the second service member to die in a non-combat incident in Kuwait this week. U.S. Army Central announced that a soldier was killed Thursday in a vehicle accident at Udairi Range. The identification of the soldier is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
