The AFNORTH Lions handled Lakenheath 4-1 on Friday and Brussels 7-0 on Saturday as they expanded their winning streak to four games.
The duo of Caitlyn Helwig and Caitlin Fenton pushed their season-long offensive excellence to new heights in the victories.
Helwig totaled seven goals on the weekend, including five against Brussels, and also notched an assist in that Saturday game. Fenton, meanwhile, recorded an assist on nine of her team's 11 goals and scored one of her own against Lakenheath.
AFNORTH hasn't lost since its season opener April 16. The Lions face Alconbury and Baumholder down the stretch before entering the tournament as a Division II favorite; they fell to Hohenfels 1-0 in last year's championship game.
Stuttgart 7, Naples 3: Saturday at Vicenza, Alexa Smith scored five goals, including one in the game's first minute, as the defending Division I champions reasserted their large-school stature.
The win completed an impressive visit to Italy for the Panthers, who blanked Vicenza 7-0 a day prior. It also improved their record to 4-0-1 on the season; a March 26 tie with Ramstein in a rematch of the two schools' annual title-match meeting is the only blemish on Stuttgart's otherwise pristine season.
Emily Smith passed out three assists and Kat Farrar scored a pair of goals as the Panthers produced seven goals for the third time in their last four games. Alexa Smith's first goal came in the game's opening minute.
Micayla Feltner, Shiloh Houseworth and Victoria Sasse each scored a goal for Naples.
Aviano 3, Hohenfels 3: Friday at Aviano, the Saints played the defending Division II champions to a draw.
Lina Pompa, Mia Fosco and Madison Brace each scored a goal for the home team. Amelia Heath scored twice and assisted teammate Kaylee Weinzetl to pace the Tiger offense.
Alina Davis made 18 saves in goal for Hohenfels.
Hohenfels 4, AOSR 3: Saturday at Aviano, Heath scored all of her team's goals as the Tigers edged the Falcons.
The Tigers visit Bitburg and Baumholder next weekend, then wrap up their regular season May 13 against Ansbach.
Black Forest Academy 8, American Overseas School of Rome 1: Friday at Aviano, the Falcons routed another set of Falcons.
Anna Kragt, Bianca Liberti and Chloe Moorlag each produced two goals in the onslaught.
The game was a lopsided rematch of last year's Division II third-place game, which AOSR won 3-2.
BFA 3, Aviano 1: Saturday at Aviano, the Falcons broke out of a 1-1 halftime tie to complete an unbeaten weekend. Liberti scored a pair of goals and Kragt added another to provide the offense, offsetting a score by Aviano's Elyse Slabaugh.
Lakenheath 4, International School of Brussels 3: Saturday at Brussels, the Lancers recovered from Friday's loss at AFNORTH with a gritty road victory.
Naomi Rangel scored the game-winner of the back-and-forth game off an assist by Nicole Moore, breaking a tie forced on a penalty kick by ISB's Alberte Martensson.
The game's other goal scorers included Lakenheath's Moore, Jasmine Lopez and Kaitlyn Novotny and ISB's Michelle Kring and Maddie Caruso.
Bitburg 2, Baumholder 1: Saturday at Baumholder, Baileigh McFall scored a goal in each half to lead the Barons over the host Bucs.
Karina Inchauregui scored a second-half goal for Baumholder.
