Shortly after Cedric Hamm went missing, his case was sent to the R.T. Weatherman Foundation, a nonprofit that works to bring home the remains of soldiers killed in combat in Ukraine. Since Russia invaded in 2022, the foundation has repatriated the bodies of nine soldiers, seven of which were Americans.
Five of the 10 bills introduced Tuesday offered plans for expanding coverage for veterans seeking private-sector care. Some of the proposals would waive requirements for veterans to qualify for non-VA care and others offered alternatives for covering veterans care in the private sector.
