It was the first of many tree-lightings planned at military communities throughout Europe in the coming days.

Inside the Kaiserslautern, Germany, main train station where stairs and escalators lead to the platforms. The Kaiserslautern prosecutor’s office has charged a woman with bodily harm resulting in death following the stabbing at the station in June. The altercation that led to the stabbing began at the bottom of an escalator.
