A Sunday evening argument among a group of people in the center of Kaiserslautern escalated when a 32-year-old man pulled a machete out of his bag and slightly injured his 29-year-old opponent, who in return used pepper spray.

The older man then fled the scene, according to police, and was chased by a group of four people, who threw glass bottles at him, injuring him in the process.

The police found the 32-year-old at home. During a search, they found the machete and took the man to the police station.

In the meantime, there was another altercation between the 32-year-old’s father and the group. A baseball bat and a knife were used, slightly injuring a 22-year-old man. The police are investigating who used the weapons.
